Acclaimed pianist Simon Ghraichy will perform on January 29 at 8 pm at the Casa das Artes, a concert of classical music as part of the celebrations of the Treaty of Elisha. The artist will interpret themes from classical and contemporary composers such as Robert Schumann, Philip Glass and Michael Nyman.
Following the success of the 2018 performance at the António Agostinho Neto Memorial, the artist will be back in Luanda to present his new album, titled "33", released in February 2019. More intimate, this album features compositions with a reflection on time that passes and reveals certain episodes of the artist's past.
The concert of January 29 is organized in reference to the Treaty of Elisha. This is a bilateral treaty between the Federal Republic of Germany and the French Republic, signed at the Elysee Palace on 22 January 1963 by the German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer and the then French President Charles de Gaulle. It sealed the reconciliation between the two nations and laid the foundation for a lasting peace in Europe.
Tickets will be on sale at Alliance Française de Luanda from January 15 for 5000 kwanzas (students) or 10,000 kwanzas (general public) and from January 29 at Casa das Artes.
