On January 21, at 6.30 pm, the Portuguese Cultural Center in Luanda will host the launch of the book "Encyclopedia of Angolan Military Aviation (1975-1991)".
This book describes "peculiar and technical aspects of the aircraft that led to the formation of the Angolan Air Force from its inception in 1976 to 1991 and makes unprecedented revelations about the means and strategies used by the opponent of the time - the South African Republic".
The Encyclopedia is by Humberto Abrantes, born in Benguela in 1959. A member of the Angolan People's Air Force, he was a helicopter pilot and actively participated in hundreds of high-risk military operations throughout the territory. Later, he was the first Angolan helicopter pilot in the service of Sonangol Aeronautics.
