Catumbela Airport receives international certification this Thursday

Paulo Teixeira Jorge Airport, in Catumbela, province of Benguela, will begin to receive international flights, starting this Thursday, the day on which it will receive international certification. The information comes from Elvis Manzambi, manager of Fly Angola, who also said that from the 21st of this month the airline will begin connecting Benguela to Windhoek, in Namibia.

"On the 12th of this month, the certification of Catumbela airport will be handed over and it will be placed in the international category", said the manager, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

Elvis Manzambi recalled that the company has had a regional flight to São Tomé from Luanda for around "a year and with the internationalization of Catumbela airport" they will open the Benguela-Windhoek regional route on December 21st.

According to the manager, passengers can buy tickets on the airline's website and at the call center.

In the first phase, according to RNA, the flights will travel on the Luanda-Catumbela-Windhoek route.

The airline, in a note to which VerAngola had access, announces the launch of this route: "On December 21st, Fly Angola will launch the first regular non-stop international route leaving Benguela, Catumbela airport, bound for Windhoek, in Namibia", says the note.

Therefore, according to the company, from December 21st, Fly Angola will operate three flights a week to Windhoek.
