According to the PCA of Sociedade Mineira do Luele, during the first year of activity, the company produced a total of 4,400,000 carats of diamonds.
Quoted in a statement from Endiama, to which VerAngola had access, the executive highlighted the "capacity of the team that faced several challenges, to administratively structure the company, leverage geological-mining programs, intensify and stabilize production, adapt capital qualification human resources, as well as developing social responsibility and sustainability programs".
"Supporting communities with sustainable projects" will continue to be at the center of the company's priorities, pointed out Rómulo Mucase, adding that the degree of physical execution of the "300 social houses for the resettlement of the population residing near mining areas" is above 40 percent.
The person in charge also made it known that the company currently has 2441 employees, "representing an increase of 1058 jobs, compared to the same period last year", the note reads.
In addition to the PCA of Sociedade Mineira do Luele, the event also included the participation of the national director of Mineral Resources, Paulo Tanganha, the executive director of Endiama, Laureano Receado Paulo, the PCA of the National Mineral Resources Agency of Angola (ANRM), Jacinto Rocha, from the Geological Institute of Angola (IGEO), José Manuel, among others.
