According to a statement from the municipal administration of Moçâmedes, to which VerAngola had access, the opening of this room took place last Saturday. "Manuel Clemente Hospital, located in the Bela Vista neighborhood, opened this Saturday (14), the hemotherapy room, for the treatment of patients who require blood transfusions and other related procedures", says the note.
The room was opened by the acting provincial governor, Abel Kapitango, in a ceremony attended by the acting municipal administrator, Humberto Mutjete, the municipal director of Health, Adelina Capanda, among other members of the municipal administration.
"On the occasion, the acting state governor, Abel Kapitango, highlighted the importance of the new service implemented in that unit and which will provide more humanized and efficient care for those who need blood most", says the statement.
Speaking at the event, the hospital's director, Filomena Fernandes, considered that this initiative will "save more lives": "Donating blood here, in our institution, will save more lives in time", she said, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).
The inauguration of this service, according to the municipal administration, took place as part of the celebration of the first anniversary of Manuel Clemente Hospital.
