Candidates, who must present proposals aimed at restructuring and boosting PAENAL, can submit their applications until March 30th of next year via the evaluation committee's email, available on the PAENAL and Sonangol portal, said the person in charge.
The competition is international in nature. Thus, Bruno Henriques informed, cited by Angop, that national and foreign companies can participate, and can be individual or collective, and they must comply with the requirements stipulated for the aforementioned competition.
The director of Financial Holdings Management at Sonangol also said that the winner of the competition will be announced in May.
In terms of concession criteria, according to Angop, the choice will be based on the most technically viable proposal taking into account the desired purposes, as well as the most favorable in economic terms, combined with the medium and long-term management strategy.
According to the official, the winner will have to be able to finance the restructuring of PAENAL, through the allocation of equity capital or using banks, as well as being proven to have experience in the construction, conversion, rehabilitation, maintenance and repair of ships, writes Angop.
The objective of the competition, said the person responsible, is to expand and strengthen PAENAL's technological operations, with greater emphasis on the repair, maintenance and manufacture of vessels.
Among other aspects, the director also spoke about the staff, with qualifications and specialization in the various areas, having ensured the maintenance of positions, taking into account the extensive experience gained over time.
Remember that, last week, Sonangol announced the launch of the aforementioned public tender. However, in April this year, the flagship oil company had already revealed that it was going to restructure PAENAL.
