Resident in Portugal for several years, José Adelino Barceló de Carvalho, known artistically as Bonga, was one of the 19 awarded by SACEM, which annually distinguishes composers, performers and producers of all musical styles and genres.
At the ceremony where he received the award, Bonga performed accompanied by guitarist and producer Betinho Feijó.
Jazz, hip-hop, electronic music, film music, audiovisual directors, contemporary classical music, rock, humor, musical publishing, song of the year, French song in the forms of composition, lyrics and interpretation, in addition to world music, are part of the list of distinctions.
