The route of the 66th edition of the São Silvestre race will, between this Wednesday and Thursday, be inspected for the last time, in an action that aims to verify the level of completion of the work assigned to the company contracted for the purpose, writes the Novo Jornal.
According to Jorge Cruz, race director, technicians from the Angolan Athletics Federation, inspectors and various partners from the Provincial Government of Luanda will carry out "a day and night visit" to the route.
"We are going to make a visit during the day and another at night, because most of the athletes will run under artificial light, already after 6 pm. We have information from the contractor that the trees have already been pruned, the lighting is being restored at some points. We have to verify that this was actually done, from Mutamba, going all the way to Estádio dos Coqueiros", he said, quoted by Novo Jornal.
The race starts at 6 pm on the 31st of December, starting at Largo da Mutamba and arriving at Estádio dos Coqueiros.
