Hundreds of citizens prevented from using an emergency terminal due to “abuse”

More than 300 citizens in Angola are prevented from accessing the Integrated Public Security Center (CISP) by telephone, for using the emergency terminal 111 in an abusive way, the authorities announced, regretting such behavior.

:

"Unfortunately, through recidivism, we have been restricting that citizens who call CISP in an abusive way are blocked and, at this point, we already have a significant number of terminals and above three hundred citizens are prevented from accessing CISP by telephone" , said the coordinator of the technological system, Carlos Albino.

The official, who was speaking to journalists this Wednesday as part of the celebrations of the first year of the CISP, called for a "change in behavior and greater responsibility for citizens for the collective management of a good that we all pay for".

The CISP, built in an area of about 8000 square meters, has a video surveillance room, a dispatch service, a quick response command center and a laboratory, where citizens can access services through the emergency telephone line 111 .

The first institution of its kind, located in Luanda, was inaugurated a year ago by President João Lourenço.

Carlos Albino, who highlighted the technological functionality of the infrastructure, defended the international certification of CISP "because through it the Angolan State can obtain subsidized resources through international organizations".

The "updating of systems of this nature requires the availability of permanent resources and depending solely and simply on the ordinary resources of the Treasury, we will probably encounter some difficulties", he observed.

Among the challenges of CISP, a year later, he added, are human capital and the extension of the video surveillance system across the country, recalling that the organization, which already has a counterpart in Benguela, was conceived throughout the Angolan territory.

"Five CIS provincial offices are currently under construction in the provinces of Luanda, Huambo, Benguela, Huíla and Cabinda to start in the coming days and these are the challenges and the daily improvement of the system", he concluded.
