The free surgery campaign was born out of a solidarity gesture: Banco de Fomento Angola (BFA) made a donation, worth 20 million kwanzas, for this initiative to gain legs to walk.
According to ANGOP, the children lived in the provinces of Luanda, Moxico, Namibe and Cunene.
Mayanda Inocêncio, director of Kifica's microcephaly center, revealed, in a press statement during the campaign's closing session, that the institution also has other plans in mind to help children in need: The idea is to turn the institution into a center of free solidarity. What is the point? Help children from needy families.
Ana Paula de Carvalho, Minister of Planning and Housing, was also present at the event. The minister, who is godmother of the center, proved to be available to collaborate in the institution development.
