Articulated buses return to Luanda city

The buses, air-conditioned and with a ticketing system installed, have a capacity for 108 passengers, seated and standing, including places for wheelchair users and respective access equipment, according to a statement from the Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL) to which VerAngola had access .

TCUL was the first operator to put into circulation 15 buses, out of 45 distributed to the three operators, namely TCUL, Angoreal and Macon. On the first day, six buses were launched for the morning and six for the afternoon. The rest are gradually coming into circulation on the routes this Tuesday.

The first section is Avenida Deolinda Rodrigues, which leaves from Quilometro 25 in Viana, passing through Kapalanca to 1º de Maio, while the second section starts from Largo 1º de Maio to Benfica, going through 21 January, refers to the GPL.

The express bus makes fewer stops than conventional buses, having only 10 stops at most along the section.

The authorities have appealed to motorists not to park in stalls (sideways), as they restrict the work of bus drivers.

Ana Carla Pinto, a driver by profession for 14 years, had the privilege of driving the bus that officially marked the opening of circulation of these vehicles on Luanda's roads. The steering wheel professional said that the buses are a great novelty, and that she will also fulfill her dream of driving an articulated bus.

These new buses were recently delivered by the Ministry of Transport to the Government of the Province of Luanda, an initiative that is part of the Public Transport Expansion Program, according to the 2018-2022 National Development Plan, which aims to improve service in the capital.
