National Vocational Training System trained more than 75,000 young people this year

A total of 75,970 young people were trained this year by the National System of Vocational Training, in various specialties. The results were advanced by Teresa Rodrigues Dias, minister of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security.

More than 134 thousand people enrolled in the National System of Professional Training, having been enrolled 77,397, the government official said.

Speaking at the end of this year's training period, the head of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, made it known that of the nearly 76 thousand graduates, most are male (49,546 men and 21,724 women).

Quoted by Jornal de Angola, Teresa Rodrigues Dias also reported that compared to 2020, the number of young people who completed training increased: last year, 41,171 young people attended courses, with 31,978 having completed training.

Regarding the level of achievement, the minister highlighted the growth of about 42 percent, despite the panorama of covid-19 having remained unchanged, explaining that the training complied with sanitary measures, with capacity having been reduced by half.

She said that the growth in numbers stems from a new approach to the first year of the pandemic, thus making it possible to expand student participation through short courses, writes Jornal de Angola.

Teresa Rodrigues Dias informed that the system is made up of more than 300 courses throughout the country. There are 1254 trainers on the salary scale, she said, mentioning the existence of a trainer pool, where certified professionals often attend training.

The minister, as part of the Action Plan for Promoting Employability, also handed over professional kits to graduates.
