Sodiam announces 19.5 million dollars in diamond auction

Angola's National Diamond Marketing Company (SODIAM) announced that the fourth rough diamond auction had ended this Wednesday in Luanda, having raised a total net value of 19.5 million dollars.

The evaluation sessions took place between the 15th and 29th of November and the proposals to the "special diamonds of Catoca and Lulo", made through an 'online' electronic platform created for this purpose, were presented this Wednesday.

"A diversified set of special stones were auctioned, six from the Mineira do Lulo society, which yielded 12.8 million dollars and 15 from the Mineira do Catoca society, which yielded 6.7 million dollars", the statement reads. sent by Sodiam.

"29 companies from the world's main diamond squares" participated in the auction.

This was the second auction in 2021, added the company.

Founded in 1999, Sodiam is the state-owned company responsible for marketing Angola's diamond production.
