The spokesman for the provincial police command in Huíla, chief inspector Fernando Tongo, confirmed the arrest of 23-year-old Beatriz Alves, allegedly involved in the crime of criminal association.
"Through an arrest warrant issued by the PGR [Attorney General's Office] it was possible to detain this citizen", said Fernando Tongo, in statements issued by Angolan public radio.
According to the official, Beatriz Alves is being held in the cells of the Criminal Offenses Investigation Department, which carried out the arrest in coordination with the Criminal Investigation Service.
The accused allegedly dealt with the raids on shops, canteens, pharmacies, vehicles and people, in the commune of Arimba, municipality of Lubango, capital of Huíla, with a group of criminals dismantled by the police on the 11th of this month.
According to the public broadcaster, the group includes a pastor from the Pentecostal Church of the Kingdom of God and a mechanic, both detained on the 11th.
After the prosecutor carried out the interrogation, he found evidence of Beatriz Alves' involvement in the crimes she was accused of, with the former Miss Huila being held in preventive detention.
