According to a statement from the US State Department, which follows the imposition of sanctions on Generals Dino and Kopelipa, on Thursday, the businesswoman Isabel dos Santos is prevented from traveling to the US, without being announced, however, any economic or judicial sanctions against the daughter of former President José Eduardo dos Santos.
"The United States is nominating the following individuals for their involvement in significant corruption", reads at the top of the list that includes, among others, the name of Isabel dos Santos, presented as "former president of an Angolan public company", and in which "their involvement in significant corruption through the appropriation of public funds for their personal benefit" is pointed out.
These appointments, explained in the statement available on the Department of State's website, "are made under Section 7031(c)" and "under this authority, the Secretary will refuse entry to the United States of foreign government officials involved in significant corruption and to their immediate family members".
In addition to the visa restrictions imposed on Isabel dos Santos, the US government also applied sanctions to generals Dino and Kopelipa. In this case, the accounts and assets that the generals have in that country were frozen.
