"The decision is incorrect and unjustified. I was not given the opportunity to defend myself against these allegations", she said, in reaction to news released this Thursday, which states that the UK government "has announced sanctions that prevent her from entering in the country and froze her assets in that country".
In a statement sent to VerAngola, the daughter of the former President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, denies having unduly appropriated money from Sonangol and Unitel.
"I did not misappropriate any money from Sonangol and I also did not misappropriate funds from Unitel", she pointed out.
Isabel dos Santos also speaks of political persecution against her and her family: "No court has found me guilty of corruption or bribery. We are facing another step in Angola's politically motivated campaign of persecution against me and my family."
The businesswoman guarantees that she intends to appeal, hoping that the United Kingdom will "give her the opportunity to present" her evidence.
"I intend to appeal and I hope that the United Kingdom will give me the opportunity to present my evidence and prove these lies fabricated against me by the Angolan regime", she concluded.
It is worth remembering that, this Thursday, the United Kingdom announced sanctions on Isabel dos Santos and two of her associates, namely partner and friend Paula Oliveira and the former financial director of Sonangol Sarju Raikundalia.
