White House confirms Biden's trip to Angola in the first week of December

The President of the United States of America (USA), Joe Biden, will travel to Angola in the first week of December, the White House confirmed this Thursday.

The trip to Angola was initially scheduled for October, but Biden postponed it to oversee the passage of Hurricane Milton through the United States.

In Angola, Biden will be received by President João Lourenço, according to White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre.

Biden, Jean-Pierre pointed out, “will recognize Angola's role as a regional leader and will highlight the significant transformation in the relationship between the US and Angola”.

The White House also indicated that both countries are working on several “urgent challenges”, including bridging the infrastructure gap in Africa, strengthening peace and security or improving food security.

The American head of state will also take advantage of the trip to meet with representatives of the private sector.
