“And to end what was a truly memorable year [within the scope of bilateral cooperation relations], in just two weeks we will celebrate the historic visit of the president, Joe Biden, to Angola”, said the ambassador.

The visit of the outgoing US President to Angola is scheduled for the first week of December.

According to the US diplomat, the mission of the US Embassy in Angola is to build bridges that lead to common prosperity, noting that the fair, with various service exhibits and training opportunities, aims to create economic and educational opportunities for both peoples .

In his speech, he encouraged students who attended the fair, located at the Memorial António Agostinho Neto, in Luanda, to find out more about the “extraordinary work” that more than 70 North American companies carry out in Angola.

Angola is an important partner and “we are investing to strengthen our relationship, literally building bridges to a better future”, noted James Story.

He highlighted initiatives such as Thrive Africa, which facilitated billions of dollars in private sector business, Boeing's “remarkable” US$3.6 billion deal with air carrier TAAG, and US$40 million investments to modernize Radio National of Angola as well as some of the North American investments in Angola.

“The principles of universality, equity, accessibility and inclusion are pillars of a prosperous economy”, highlighted the diplomat, adding that the embassy encourages the spirit of innovation through various exchange programs.

Entrepreneurs “are the backbone of the American economy and that is why the U.S. Government supports its growth and viability,” he said. A vibrant, business-friendly environment is the best way to create jobs and boost the economy,” he said.

The Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Angola, Paula Regina de Oliveira, said that the fair is an event of high significance, both for Angolan youth and for the strengthening of bilateral relations.

“This fair offers a unique opportunity for our students and their families to explore the possibility of studying and exchanging with some of the most prestigious North American universities and educational institutions and at the same time also serves as a platform for clarification on essential issues”, pointed out the ruler.
