Petro and Sagrada Esperança enter African competitions on the right foot

Petro de Luanda, under the command of Portuguese coach Alexandre Santos, began, on Saturday, with a 1-0 victory over Al Hilal Ondurman, from Sudan, in Luanda, their participation in the African Football Champions League.

In a Group C game, the only goal of the game was scored by Portuguese-Angolan central defender Inácio Miguel, in the 37th minute.

The Angolans, who have three points, share the group lead with Esperance de Tunis, who beat Etoile Sahel, from Tunisia, 2-0.

In the next round, the Angolans will face Etoile Sahel, from Tunisia, in the latter's stronghold, in December, in the second round.

On Sunday, Sagrada Esperança began their participation in the African Football Confederation Cup with a 2-0 victory over Soar, from Guinea Conakry, in Luanda, in the first round of group B.

The goals were scored by Lépua, in the 33rd minute, and Luís Tati, in the 77th minute.

The Angolans will play again on December 3rd, at Abu Salim, from Libya, in a match on the second round.

For the same competition, Académica do Lobito lost at Rivers United, from Nigeria, 3-0, in Group C, with goals from Samuel Adom, in the third minute, Paul Odeth, in the 46th, and Shedreck Asilogbu, in the 61.

The defeated hosts, in Luanda, the Tunisians from Club Africain, on December 3, in the second round.
