It should be noted that this Friday, according to CIPRA in a brief communication to which VerAngola had access, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, received in a joint meeting the CEO of Trafigura, Julien Roland, accompanied by its administrator, Alexandre Canas, the Vecturis CEO Eric Pfeifer and Mota Engil CEO Manuel Mota.
Speaking at the end of the meeting, Alexandre Canas informed that the objectives of this investment include making the infrastructure operational, as well as guaranteeing "railway and logistics services", writes Angop.
This initiative, according to the official, quoted by Angop, will enable the building of business capacity as well as commercial transactions on the Lobito-Luau railway route and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to Angop, it is also expected that 1600 direct jobs, aimed at youth, will be created with this project.
With a view to formalizing the beginning of this initiative, according to Angop, for this Friday an agreement was planned for the concession of the Lobito Corridor.
It is recalled that approximately a year ago, in September 2021, the tender for the concession of this corridor was launched, which was awarded to the Mota Engil/Trafigura/Vecturis consortium.
