The information was released this Wednesday by Afonso Vita, national director of the Institute for Tourism Development (Infotur), in statements to the press, on the sidelines of the arrival of the cruise ship MS ZAANDAM.
At the moment, Angola is only a passing territory, however, with the start of the future terminal, the country will become a place for embarking and disembarking cruise ships with greater comfort, said the official, quoted by Angop.
As for the more than 1000 tourists who are passing through the country, Afonso Vita admitted that the visit portrays the fruits of the work carried out by the sector.
Cited by Angop, the official added that the sector is currently being structured, with the need to continue work in order to improve tourism.
He also took the opportunity to mention that they are "engaged" in creating conditions at the Miradouro da Lua: "We are engaged in creating conditions at the Miradouro da Lua, where we are transforming a tourist resource into a tourist product", he said, quoted by Angop.
The director of Infotur also mentioned that the arrival of two trains during the year and the recent boat show that the country is on a good path with regard to the progress of tourism.
In addition, he also said that they should "continue to work", considering that tourism "is the only sector" with the capacity to stimulate development. "We must continue working, tourism is a multisectoral responsibility that involves everyone's responsibility, as it is the key to the country's development. It is the only sector capable of galvanizing development and dragging other sectors towards the well-being of Angolans" , he said, quoted by Angop.
