Covid-19: Angola with 25 new cases, three deaths and six recovered

Angola has reported another 25 cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, as well as three deaths and six recovered patients, health authorities said.

:

New infections in 20 males and 5 females, aged between 8 and 73, were reported in Luanda (14), Cabinda (5), Huambo (2), Malanje (2), Zaire ( 1) and Moxico (1).

Three deaths were registered, two male and one female, between 34 and 53 years of age, which occurred in the provinces of Luanda, Malanje and Moxico, with arterial hypertension as the most frequent comorbidity.

The six recovered patients, aged between 11 and 64, are all from Luanda.

There is a total of 64,458 confirmed cases of the disease, of which 9396 active, 1713 deaths and 53,349 recovered.

In the last 24 hours, 1474 samples were processed by RT-PCR out of a cumulative processed samples of 1,117,564.

Covid-19 has caused at least 4,997,407 deaths worldwide, among more than 246.62 million infections by the new coronavirus registered since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the latest report by the Agence France-Presse.

In Portugal, since March 2020, 18,167 people have died and 1,091,142 cases of infection have been recorded, according to data from the Directorate-General for Health.

The respiratory disease is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, detected at the end of 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China, and currently with variants identified in several countries.
