Without revealing how much the project will cost, Manuel Barros indicated that the infrastructure will be built in Kinguila, a town located about 10 kilometers from the headquarters of Malanje province.

Quoted by Angop, Manuel Barros informed that the construction works are expected to start in the second quarter of next year.

He also underlined that the aim of the new facilities is to increase gas storage and distribution capacity in Malanje and neighboring areas.

Speaking at the signing ceremony of the consignment document for the relaunch of gas transport from Luanda to Malanje by rail, between the oil company and Luanda Railways (CFL), the official explained that the new facilities are part of the second phase of the protocol agreed with the CFL.

Without specifying the storage capacity of the current infrastructure, the official informed that the capacity of future installations will be higher.

The consignment notices were signed this Thursday by Manuel Barros and Júlio Joaquim, chairman of the CFL Board of Directors.

Also this Thursday, the rail transport of butane gas from Luanda to Malanje was relaunched, after more than 30 years of interregnum. The relaunch will take place at the Malanje Railway Station, with the symbolic arrival of the locomotive, which carried 400 cubic meters of gas.
