Rui Miguéns, who was speaking at a press conference held this Tuesday at the end of the meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee of the National Bank of Angola, said that the request was accepted, starting 15 days from the 22nd of this month.
"The initial indication was for the 22nd, the bank asked for a moratorium and this process is ongoing. We accept the moratorium and we are giving enough time for the bank to present, they asked for 15 days and we are giving that deadline", mentioned.
The central bank is finalizing the solution for the recapitalization of Banco Económico, an institution that emerged after the bankruptcy of Banco Espírito Santo Angola (BESA).
The restructuring plan to be presented by Banco Económico must "the total incorporation of losses in the share capital" as determined in October by the central bank.
