Vera Daves spoke at the VI Expansion Insurance Forum, where she said she believes that "there are more benefits than risks in using technology to increase the penetration rate of insurance in the national economy."

The head of Finance, explained that it is possible to improve the penetration rate of insurance in the economy when insurers present innovative products, capable of satisfying the various layers of the population.

He also challenged insurers to act quickly in the event of an accident, improving their solvency levels: "The objective is to pursue and achieve the goal of having a stronger, sustainable, dynamic and vibrant insurance sector in Angola. For a portion of the population , it is much more convenient to take risks than taking out insurance, mainly because of the huge bureaucracy that, inevitably, also increases the costs of acquiring services," said the minister, cited by Expansão.

Vera Daves emphasized that everyone is called to contribute positively so that the insurance sector can reach, in the medium term, a penetration of around three percent. In this way, Angola would be on a par with most SADC countries.

"There is no doubt that we live under strong pressure due to the economic crisis that the world is going through and Angola is not immune to this situation. We must adapt and take into account that technology is one of the means by which insurance companies can, in fact, , present some innovation", concluded the minister.
