"SuperSport currently holds the rights to the Europa League only for South Africa, however, under the new agreement, the transmission of this competition will be extended to the whole territory of Sub-Saharan Africa, including Angola", can be read in a statement sent to VerAngola.
DStv also explains that SuperSport "has renewed the UEFA and Premier League broadcasting contracts for another three years". These contracts "guarantee the broadcasting rights of the Champions League, UEFA Europa League, as well as a totally new competition, the UEFA Europa Conference League, as well as the Premier League".
The new contract comes into force from the next sports season 2021/2022.
Calvo Mawela, executive president of the Multichoice Group, considered that "UEFA soccer competitions show the champions on and off the field, never failing to produce emotion and drama", adding that the channel is eager to broadcast these competitions in the coming years".

SuperSport has also renewed the contract for the broadcasting of all Premier League matches, in an exclusive five-year agreement, the note reveals.
"SuperSport is exclusive to DStv and has 20 thematic sports channels, and in addition to the Champions League and the Europa League, it broadcasts the English League, La Liga, Serie A, as well as the League of Nations, and other international competitions of teams such as the Euro and the World Cups of soccer", completes the statement.
