"Seven activists who are coordinating the demonstration in Huila were arrested when they were meeting in a private establishment on Saturday," said Benedito (Dito) Dali, one of the organizers of the "March for Citizenship, for the End of the High Cost of Living and for Municipalities in 2021," called for next Wednesday.
According to Dito Dali, initially five people were there, "obeying the biosecurity measures" of the last presidential decree, who were arrested by the police.
Two other people who went to the police station "to know about their comrades" were also arrested.
The activist added that two of the detainees were released and it was not possible to know more about the others.
Dali said that the organizers of the march in Luanda were notified to appear on Monday at the Luanda provincial command of the National Police.
In a note released on his Facebook page, the provincial command of Huíla, indicates to have surprised "a gathering of more than five people in the courtyard of Pirilampo College, most of them salesmen, who mobilized some citizens for a demonstration scheduled for the 11th.
According to the police, when the identification process was taking place, five men offended the officers on duty and were arrested for insulting them, while two other people, as organizers of the gathering, were fined.
The demonstration on November 11 is called by the same organizers of the march on October 24, which was strongly repressed by the police in Luanda and ended with the arrest of a hundred people, including some journalists.
The arrested demonstrators were summarily tried and released a week later, 71 of them were sentenced for disobedience.
