The infrastructure, according to a statement from the government of the province of Luanda (GPL), to which VerAngola had access, consists of 18 classrooms.
"The School Complex No. 8021 'Soba Moniz', designed to meet the educational needs and made available to the citizens on the morning of Thursday, October 10, has an excellent infrastructure, with 18 modern and equipped classrooms, the official handover of which was the responsibility of the provincial governor of Luanda, Manuel Gomes da Conceição Homem", the statement reads.
The school complex, which was rehabilitated and expanded, is capable of accommodating 1260 new students, as well as "having a more inclusive teaching and learning environment, capable of receiving students from the beginning to the ninth grade, with a view to facilitating access to a quality and humane education".
According to the GPL, this complex is also a tribute to Soba Moniz for his contribution to community causes.
"The newest school complex opened in the municipality of Kilamba Kiaxi pays homage to Soba Moniz, a figure who from 1976 to 2001 dedicated himself to social causes in the current Urban District of Palanca, emphasizing literacy, the construction of schools, electrification, water supply and the improvement of access roads, becoming a figure of great importance for the urban district, an example of commitment to education and good coexistence, in a balance between intellectuality and social engagement", reads another note from the GPL, to which VerAngola had access.
The delivery of this school complex, says the GPL, is part of a "set of government initiatives to give the community and school-age children access to one of their primary rights, education", whose official delivery of this project takes place within the scope of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM).
