The training was in cataloguing tourist sites, teaching about monitoring and guiding tourists, protocol and technical language of tourism, areas in which trainees should help tourists, especially foreigners, during visits to tourist sites.
Speaking to Angop about the results of the third National Forum of Entrepreneurial Techniques, promoted by AJEA in recent days in Malanje, Alfredo Cangonga Nguli said that it is a project that aims to integrate English and French to facilitate communication between guides and foreign tourists.
The training, he added, is part of the project 'The young want, the young do' and will be extended to all provinces of the country, with the training of 15 thousand tourist guides expected, with Malanje benefiting in the first three months of next year with more than 100 guides.
According to the official, the project is currently being evaluated by the Tourism Development Institute and has the support of the Angola-Brazil Chamber of Commerce.
The president of AJEA stated that, in addition to making tourism easier, the project also aims to create conditions to encourage economic agents to invest in tourism and attract tourists to all tourist spots in the country, with a view to creating jobs and increasing revenue.
The official, quoted by Angop, also appealed to the Government to invest in street lighting connecting tourist spots, as well as in improving roads and creating public transport, with a view to boosting the sector. He also supported the idea of creating tourist guides at the airport, ports, train stations and taxi ranks, providing visitors with information on hotels, itineraries, among others, as soon as they arrive in the country.
Regarding the forum, which was attended by 32 young entrepreneurs, he said that it served as an opportunity for entrepreneurs from various provinces to share experiences, namely Cunene, Malanje, Cuanza Norte, Benguela, Uíge, Huíla, Luanda, Namibe, Cabinda and Lunda Norte. According to Angop, the forum also served to present the tourism potential of Malanje, the province that hosted the forum, which also aimed to outline financing guidelines for businesses and assess the economic and social challenges of entrepreneurship in Angola.
