The project, which will be promoted in partnership with local producer Maia Tanner, aims to "unite art and solidarity, involving national visual artists and society in general, with the aim of promoting different social causes".
According to a statement sent to VerAngola, the project will last seven months, with the cars being transformed into works of art inspired by a theme each month.
"Over the course of seven months, Angolan visual artists will participate in the transformation of Suzuki cars into true works of art, each inspired by a carefully selected monthly theme, to reflect important causes and promote solidarity actions", the note reads.
Thus, the theme of the first month of the project will be 'Pink October', about raising awareness about breast and cervical cancer.
Visual artist Oksanna Dias will be responsible for transforming the first car. Their "sensitivity and mastery with the paintbrush" will give "even greater visibility to this cause", and the car chosen to be transformed into art was the Suzuki Fronx.
"The artistic creation on the car will be a visual representation of this theme", and the company will also promote a series of initiatives to support this cause.
The program of activities includes an exhibition, to be inaugurated this Thursday. The exhibition, in partnership with Avennida Shopping - Morro Bento, is entitled "Pink, Pink October" and will feature works by Joana Taya, Yola Balanga, Denise Luís, Maria Brandão and Ima Tchitanga.
Angolanauto will also promote, with the support of Farmácias Moniz Silva, Tintas CIN Angola and the government of the province of Bengo, between 23 and 25 October, lectures and awareness-raising marches, awareness campaigns and consultations, as well as donations, prevention initiatives and screenings for the disease in rural areas, among others.
After that, the project will continue with the theme of 'Blue November' in November.
"The following month, November, the programme will be dedicated to raising awareness and screening for prostate cancer in 'Blue November'. In December, the theme will be 'Christmas', and the art will reflect the Christmas spirit, with donations being made to a children's home. Other themes include Women's Month, Workers' Month, Children's Month and Angolauto's Anniversary, celebrated on 2 April", explains the statement.
According to the statement, the project "not only celebrates the creativity and talent of our national artists, but also reaffirms Angolauto's commitment to social responsibility and support for the Angolan community".
