With regard to the challenges of the Angolan presidency in this organization, Venceslau Canjongo highlighted the "strengthening of cooperation".
"We also have the challenge of expanding the number of member countries, we would like all African countries to be able to join this cooperation platform. In addition to this, there is also the standardization of inspection procedures", he added, quoted by RNA.
African inspectors general meet with João Lourenço
This Wednesday, the President of the Republic held an audience with a delegation of Inspectors General of African States and Similar Institutions, headed by Germain Kiamba, president of FIGE.
"The hearing took place at the Presidential Palace, taking advantage of the presence in Luanda of the aforementioned entities, on the occasion of the ninth general assembly and the 11th FIGE International Colloquium", says a statement from the Presidency of the Republic, to which VerAngola had access.
Speaking to the press after the meeting, Germain Kiamba highlighted the importance of the meeting with João Lourenço, "who was unable to participate in the opening of the work due to his schedule".
"It was expected that the President of the Republic would make this opening, but with his busy schedule, he was unable to do so, which is why the President granted us a courtesy hearing," he said.
On the occasion, the official also highlighted "the great challenges faced by State inspectors general, whose main objective is to guarantee the protection of public finances and ensure that the resources collected by States are correctly used for the benefit of the majority", says the note.
Thus, Germain Kiamba said: "We are a body of State inspectors general and our mission is to protect the States and the finances that the State collects."
The FIGE event in the country's capital brings together "delegations from several African countries, with the aim of discussing strategies and strengthening cooperation in the supervision and efficient use of public resources", the statement also indicates.
