According to the Secretary of the President of the Republic for Institutional Communication and Press Affairs, Luís Fernando, for this Monday, João Lourenço's agenda includes the inauguration of the new general hospital, named 'Comandante Raúl Arguelles'.
"President João Lourenço leaves for Sumbe this Monday morning, arrives and inaugurates the Sumbe General Hospital (...)", said the person in charge, quoted in a video released by CIPRA and to which VerAngola had access.
According to the secretary, it will be "two days of work for the head of state in Cuanza Sul", with the inauguration of the hospital being the highlight of the first day of the visit.
"The following day, Tuesday, October 22nd, there will be a meeting with the provincial government of Cuanza Sul, with the purpose (...) of taking the pulse of governance in the territory, that is, seeing what is being done in terms of building infrastructures, economic and social development in general", he indicated, adding that at the aforementioned meeting an "exhaustive report on the general state of the province will be presented and the various ministers who are part of the presidential delegation will provide clarifications on issues in their sectors".
In addition to the meeting, still on Tuesday, "a visit to the works taking place in the city of Sumbe related to the infrastructure integrated in that location" is also planned.
The President of the Republic returns to Luanda on Tuesday afternoon, said the secretary.
According to Angop, the head of state, in the company of the first lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço, has already disembarked in Sumbe, having been received at that city's airport by Mara Quiosa, governor of the province of Cuanza Sul, among others.
It is recalled that, last week, during the speech on the State of the Nation, the President of the Republic announced that the new Cuanza Sul General Hospital was scheduled to open in the next few days and that the new infrastructure would be named 'Comandante Raúl Arguelles'.
