Speaking to the press, at the end of the ceremony where he took office as advisor to the President of the Republic, Abel Chivukuvuku was asked about the future of the United Patriotic Front (FPU), which is part of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA), the PRA-JA Servir Angola and the Democratic Bloc, stating that their recently legalized party will continue to be part of this political platform, created in the 2022 general elections.

According to Abel Chivukukuvuku, after several complaints from the Constitutional Court, PRA-JA Servir Angola was legalized within the legal norms of the Constitution of the Republic, as well as the law on political parties.

"It is common knowledge that the United Patriotic Front is made up of three dimensions, UNITA, a legal party for many decades, Democratic Bloc, also a legal party for a few years, and PRA-JA Servir Angola", he said.

The politician reaffirmed that PRA-JA Servir Angola, now a political party, continues to be part of the FPU, considering legitimate the opinions that with the legalization of this political force, the platform is weakened.

"You can't stop anyone who wants to think, it's legitimate, and in democracy they are free to think like that, now what will count are the facts and reality", he declared.

The coordinator of the FPU and president of UNITA, Adalberto Costa Júnior, said on Tuesday that the legalization of PRA-JA Servir Angola had political motivations, allegedly to destabilize the United Patriotic Front (FPU), but assured that the platform "is stable".

Abel Chivukuvuku, who was also a member of UNITA, from where he left to lead CASA-CE, stressed, on the other hand, that the country is going through many difficulties, "both from a political and economic point of view and above all social".

"This is where all synergies, ideas, valid suggestions need to be brought to the bodies so that we can contribute to improving the living conditions of our citizens. This is the purpose, to serve Angola", he said, also remembering that he was inherently part of this body from 2012 to 2019, when he was leader of the Convergência Ampla de Salvação de Angola – Coligação Eleitoral (CASA-CE), now being part of the Council by appointment of the head of State.

The president, João Lourenço, said he wants to count on Abel Chivukuvuku's political experience to help "overcome the great challenges" that the country faces.

Abel Chivukuvuku became a member of the Council of the Republic, after a vacancy was created by the death of counselor Ismael Mateus.

"I understood that I would fill this vacancy with someone who I think, with his knowledge, with his experience of political life, will be able to reinforce the range of advisors he has present and in this way help the President of the Republic to overcome the great challenges that our country faces", said João Lourenço.

The President congratulated Abel Chivukuvuku for the trust he had placed in him, expecting "a lot" from his presence on this council.

"We are already planning a first meeting within a few days, to discuss the vast program of celebrations for the 50th anniversary of national independence", highlighted the President of the Republic.
