According to a statement from CIPRA, to which VerAngola had access, the telephone conversation took place on Thursday night and served to talk about bilateral relations, especially about the postponement of Biden's visit to Angola.
The new dates for the visit, says CIPRA, will be defined through diplomatic channels.
"The conversation focused on bilateral relations and essentially the postponement of President Biden's visit to Angola, which was discussed in terms of new dates that diplomatic channels will define", the note reads.
João Lourenço also took advantage of the occasion to "express solidarity with President Biden, his administration and the American people in the face of the devastation caused by Hurricane Milton".
It is worth remembering that, last Tuesday, the White House announced that Joe Biden decided to postpone his visit to Angola due to the hurricanes that were affecting several regions of the USA.
