LMC promotes debate on technology in health: “Technology has already started to transform health in Angola”

“In Angola, technology has already begun to transform healthcare, with the increasing use of health apps, such as Appy Saúde, the MyLMC app and some telemedicine solutions, allowing more people to access medical care in a convenient way. Digital solutions facilitate access to medical information, remote consultations and improved communication between patients and healthcare providers, particularly in areas that are difficult to access”, defended Ana Rita Fernandes, Director of Marketing at Luanda Medical Center (LMC), in as part of the 'Conversations with Experience' initiative, which brought together, on Thursday afternoon, a group of experts to discuss how technology is transforming the customer experience in healthcare.

'The Digital Era in the Healthcare Customer Experience' was the motto of the event, promoted by LMC, which, in addition to the debate surrounding the impact of technology on the healthcare customer experience, allowed exploring the technological solutions currently implemented by companies and organizations, discuss the future challenges of digitalization in customer service in Angola and facilitate the exchange of ideas between experts, fostering new solutions and collaborations.

"Technology has enormous potential to transform any customer's experience, and in healthcare the impact is probably greater, because it improves the accessibility and personalization of services. Tools such as telemedicine, monitoring apps and artificial intelligence allow for faster and more efficient service, empowering patients with information and preventive care. Digitization facilitates remote monitoring, data management and communication between doctors and patients, which creates a more transparent and integrated relationship with healthcare", said Filipa Santos, Director of Customer Service to the LMC Customer.

Highlighting that "LMC has been at the forefront of implementing digital solutions in Angola", Filipa Santos highlighted the "use of platforms for online appointments, a focus on the digitalization of medical records, which not only speed up processes, but also improve the experience global customer profile".

Regarding the challenges faced in Angola, with regard to the implementation of digital solutions to improve the customer experience, the LMC Marketing Director points out the low penetration of smartphones and internet, the lack of robust digital infrastructures and limited technological literacy among the population.

"These factors hinder the widespread implementation of digital solutions, especially in more rural areas, where access to healthcare is, in itself, limited. To overcome these challenges, it is essential to invest in digital education and the expansion of technological infrastructure in the technology for healthcare professionals are also very important, to ensure that clients and professionals can fully benefit from these innovations", highlighted Ana Rita Fernandes.

Participating in the 'Conversations with Experience' were Isabel Moreira, country manager at ADV Angola, Bruna Vicente, Marketing coordinator at Unisaúde, Sandra Camelo, Operations director at TIS, Helder Francisco, specialist and master in Bioethics, Pedro Beirão, CEO of Appy Saúde, and Carolina Vasconcelos, Marketing Director at Standard Bank of Angola.
