The announcement was made by Evandro dos Santos, PetroWorld's operations director, who, speaking to Angop during the fifth Angola Oil & Gas conference held last week in Luanda, said that the project will cost five million dollars, but that there is a total fund worth 250 million dollars earmarked for expanding operations.
According to Evandro dos Santos, the company also wants to build a base for building ships. "In addition to the factory, we intend to build a base for building and maintaining ships," he said, as quoted by Opaís.
Regarding jobs, the official explained that the intention is to hire some people to work at the ship base, while others will be assigned to the factory, which aims to meet the needs of the automotive, mining and construction industries and is being built near the expressway in the capital.
Evandro dos Santos also said that the oil company intends to install a used oil recycling system, using material from Dubai and collected from workshops and companies in Angola.
"We will collect used oil from workshops and companies that dispose of oil, and we will buy it in drums and then take it to the factory that will produce the lubricants," said Evandro dos Santos, who added that this collection has already started.
The official also spoke about why they chose Angola to expand the company on the African continent. Quoted by Angop, he explained that it was due to Angola's receptiveness to foreign investment, as well as the opportunities in the local market.
On the occasion, he also said that Angola will also be used as a "platform" to export lubricants to other African countries: "Angola will also be used as a platform for the export of lubricants to neighboring countries, such as Namibia, South Africa and the Congos."
