In a statement, Tranquilidade – Corporação Angolana de Seguros, S.A. – states that the "significant increase" in its share capital is important in establishing itself as "one of the most financially solid companies in the insurance market".
For the insurer, this extraordinary capital investment (investment of 4.25 billion kwanzas), above the minimum legal requirement, places the company in a solid position of financial stability to embrace new challenges and opportunities.
The chairman of the board of directors of Tranquilidade, Artur Fonseca Duarte, quoted in the statement, says that this decision represents the company's commitment to developing its business, ensuring high levels of solvency, protecting its customers and instilling confidence in the operators of the financial system.
Tranquilidade is also implementing a new strategy with a greater focus on growth, which has led to the restructuring of its sales teams, the verticalisation of services in the areas of claims, operations and underwriting, and a greater focus on communication and information to the market, as stated in the note from the insurer, founded in 2012 in Luanda.
The Insurance, Pension Fund and Mediation Market Report 2023, presented in September in Luanda, states that the insurance activity reached global premiums of 379.7 billion kwanzas, the majority of which was in the accident and illness branch, with 155.4 billion kwanzas.
