Oil technical school will be built in Cabinda

The province of Cabinda will have an oil technical school. The future educational institution will be built in 15 months on a plot of land measuring around 11 thousand square meters.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, the school will be able to train 500 students per shift.

"The Technological School, to be built on a plot of approximately 11,000 square meters, located between Rua da Missão and Rua do Comércio, in the Municipality of Cabinda, will have the capacity for 500 trainees per shift and will be built in 15 months", reads the note.

The infrastructure will include "administrative blocks, cafeteria and sanitary facilities".

Furthermore, the statement adds, it is also planned to build "six training centers for different areas of knowledge, library, auditorium, technical area and multi-sports court".

The school will offer professional courses in the areas of mechanics, metal mechanics, civil construction, among others. "Professional courses in mechanics, metal mechanics, civil construction, electricity, electronics, IT, hotel and restaurant management will be taught, as well as professional reference courses in the oil and gas, transport and logistics sectors", the statement reads.

To be built by Sonangol, within the framework of the company's social responsibility, the technical school will then be handed over to the management and supervision of the Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, the statement said.

It should be noted that the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, accompanied by the governor of Cabinda, Mara Quiosa, paid a visit this week to the land where the future school will be built.
