PR congratulates armed forces and promises to improve infrastructure

The President of the Republic congratulated all soldiers and workers of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) for ensuring the “uncompromising defense” of the country's independence, sovereignty and integrity, promising measures to improve infrastructure for quartering and arming personnel.

In the message alluding to the 32nd anniversary of the FAA, which took place this Monday, João Lourenço congratulates the entire staff, from general officers, admirals, superiors, captains and subalterns, sergeants and enlisted personnel and civilian workers, who "in line with front and rear ensure the uncompromising defense" of the country's independence.

The President highlights that, in order to defend national sovereignty and the integrity of the country, the FAA creates "the conditions of security and stability necessary for the development and social progress" of Angola.

For the also Commander-in-Chief of the FAA, in the context of peace in which Angola lives, the engagement of the FAA in social tasks and of public interest has occurred in the various areas and development projects that contribute to improving the living conditions of the populations.

"The FAA has gained enormous prestige throughout its historical trajectory, exemplarily fulfilling its noble mission of ensuring, with all available resources and means, the defense of the national territory and constitutional powers, cooperating side by side with the National Police in the fight against organized crime, in the protection of our borders and in the maintenance of public order and tranquility", the message reads.

The President also ensures that the executive, in accordance with budgetary capabilities and in the interest of national defense, will continue to implement policies that make the FAA increasingly better served from the point of view of quartering infrastructure, weapons, technical means and materials.

He also promises to improve working conditions and enhance the value of staff, "as part of the ongoing restructuring, resizing and modernization process".

The Head of State ends his message by addressing young people, who he asked to remain "steadfast in carrying out the arduous and honorable mission of serving the country, demonstrating values that highlight unshakable patriotism". "The country does not beg its children, it orders it", he also recalled.
