"With the song "Mãe África", the representative of the province of Namibe, Supe Muteca, became the big winner of the 'Top dos Mais Queridos 2023, an edition that paid homage to the musician and pan-Africanist Sam Mangwana", informs the Government of Province of Luanda, in a statement to which VerAngola had access.

Second place, the note adds, was won by Andrade Félix, from Moxico, while third place was awarded to representatives from Huambo, namely Tiagão and Grande Nico.

"Third place in this edition of the event that promotes cultural diversity through music was achieved by the duo Tiagão and Grande Nico, representatives of the province of Huambo, while second place went to musician Andrade Félix from the province of Moxico", it reads in the statement.

Regarding prizes, with winning first place, Supe Muteca took home a diploma and two million kwanzas. Quoted by Angop, the Namibe representative took the opportunity to thank those who voted for her, adding that she will invest in her career by creating constructive themes and believing more in herself.

Also highlighted was Carlos Lamartine, who won the critics' prize, worth 1,500,000 kwanzas. On the occasion, the musician took the opportunity to announce the construction of a primary school in Viana, to help promote national culture.

The monetary prize won by Lamartine will be used to materialize the initiative, which, according to the musician, contributes to improving the quality of teaching.

In a three-story building, the school will have 12 classrooms, one for exhibitions, one for music, one for teachers, etc., writes Angop.

Regarding winning the award, Carlos Lamartine was "happy and radiant", as it occurred in a year in which he 'blows out' 80 candles, also taking the opportunity to thank the organization for recognizing his achievements, in favor of Angolan culture.

In addition to announcing the construction of the school, the musician, according to Angop, also reported on the preparation of a book linked to Massemba.

The "Top dos Mais Queridos 2023" gala took place last Friday, at the Belas Conference Center, in an event that featured the testimony of Nuno Caldas, Secretary of State for Social Communication. This edition, where 18 competitors participated, was honored by Sam Mangwana.
