Iberia starts selling tickets to TAAG destinations via Luanda

Spanish air carrier Iberia has started selling tickets to destinations on the TAAG network via Luanda, the state-owned company announced in a statement.

:

Last May, the two airlines entered into a "strategic partnership", formalized by a 'codeshare' and 'interline' agreement.

In the press release, TAAG highlights that "another stage of the collaboration between Iberia and TAAG to strengthen connections between Africa and Europe, through the Luanda-Madrid route inaugurated on June 27, 2022, has been successfully completed".

"TAAG had already started selling tickets to Iberia destinations via Madrid when the route was opened, and, in reciprocity, Iberia is now starting to sell TAAG destinations via Luanda" through its electronic portal and travel agencies.

"This synergy will boost the volume of traffic to the destinations of both companies, and Iberia will encourage travel and attract passengers from Europe with economic, cultural or tourism interests to visit destinations in Africa and South America within the TAAG network", adds the national carrier.

The Luanda-Madrid-Luanda route has two weekly frequencies operated with TAAG aircraft and from 1 November another flight will be added, totaling three weekly frequencies, concludes the note.
