Luanda with more than 20 authorized beaches with bathing access

Of the 54 beaches under the control of the Luanda Provincial Command of the Civil Protection and Fire Service, 27 are authorized with bathing access while another 27 are unauthorized without bathing access.

In a statement, to which VerAngola had access, the Government of the Province of Luanda (GPL) provides some useful information about bathing areas in the province, in order to mitigate and prevent the occurrence of "drowning on the beaches of the province of Luanda".

Thus, informs the provincial government, "the Luanda Provincial Command of the Civil Protection and Fire Service is responsible for controlling 54 beaches, of which 27 are authorized with bathing access and 27 are unauthorized without bathing access".

Among the 27 authorized beaches with bathing access, 12 are equipped "with permanent surveillance towers and with the regular presence of lifeguards".

The list of prohibited beaches includes, according to the GPL, the beach of Mabunda, the beach of Corimba, the beach of Por do Sol, the beach of Morro dos Veados, the beach of the Museu da Escravatura, the beaches of km's 25 and 30, beach of Ponto Final in Baía, as well as beach of Floresta in Baía.

Casa Lisboa beach in Baía, Panorama beach in Baía, Kilombo beach, Chicala beach in Baía, Porto Pesqueiro beach, Petrangol beach, Cimangola beach, Cefopesca beach, Foz do Rio Zenza beach, Farol das Lagostas beach, Bóia Amarela beach, Nicha beach, Buraco beach and Foz do Kwanza beach, also make the list of prohibited beaches.

In terms of authorized beaches, the list includes "on Ilha de Luanda, Farol Velho beach on the opposite coast, Banho beach, Lelo beach, Panorama beach on the against coast, Tamariz beach, Coconote beach, Marinha beach, Jango Veleiro beach, Vila Sede de Cacuaco beach, Amélia beach, (not in its entire length), Rua 11 beach, Generais beach, Ramiros beach, Macoco beach, Mussulo Centro beach, Sonho Dourado beach, Sepa beach, Roça das Mangueiras beach, Ponta do Mussulo beach, Jembas beach, Neiuco beach, Sangano beach and Carpi Den beach", says the document.

According to the GPL, the beaches with access and surveillance are: Farol Velho beach on the coast, Marinha beach, Jango Veleiro beach, Vila Sede beach in Cacuaco, Sangano beach, Neiuco beach, Jembas beach, do Mussulo Centro, Sonho Dourado beach, Sepa beach, Ponta do Mussulo beach and Jango Veleiro beach.

The list of beaches with access, but not supervised, includes Panorama beach on the opposite coast, Lelo beach, Tamariz beach, Coconote beach, Amélia beach, Rua 11 beach, Ramiros beach, Macoco beach, Roça das Mangueiras, Praia dos Generais and Praia do Carpi Den. 

In the note, the GPL also appeals to bathers, so that they have "greater attention and observance of the rules as well as the useful advice issued by the maritime authorities".

It is recalled that the 2022-2023 bathing season officially opened last Saturday, in a ceremony attended by the Minister of the Interior, Eugénio Laborinho.
