"These eight companies correspond to a number of 871 workers and all these 871 workers have already received the payment of wages in arrears, they have already received the compensation and we have also already made the payment of the amount of the Social Security capital, we are only now fixing the problem of interest and fines and as soon as this is resolved they too, those of retirement age, will be able to access the pension", said the official, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

Augusto Laurindo Kalikemala also listed the companies covered so far and revealed that a total of 5.8 billion kwanzas had already been disbursed: "Africa Têxtil, Enepa, Textang II, Transapro, and Emproe, Hidromina, Roremina and to Abamat, there are 871 workers and they are talking about a total value of 5.8 billion kwanzas".

According to the RNA, this payment process is expected to be completed within a time horizon of three years.

The administrator also informed that "the process of dissolving companies began more or less in the 1990s and was until now 2022", having identified "68 companies that previously included in the public business sector some state economic communities also constituted in the 1990s and others even as already public companies and that until 2022 were extinct".

"There was a period when many of these companies were paralyzed in the 1990s, but the extinction only took place in 2015, 2016 and this process of company extinction itself entails many responsibilities on the part of the State, and one of the responsibilities is as a liquidator to do the regularization of liabilities", he added, quoted by RNA.

He also mentioned the payment of compensation to workers who have died. "It has happened in the past that we pay without complying with the legal requirements and we pay first to one family and then the other second family also comes to ask. Or sometimes a child asked, received, did not distribute to others, then another child also comes to ask Now, only with the authorization of heirs and with the indication of who is the head of the couple, of who is the person who represents the inheritance in the fund, that we make the payment for the deceased workers", he said, in statements to RNA.
