Vera Daves points to policies that “grow GDP” as the “flagship” of the next four years

Vera Daves, Minister of Finance, indicated that it is intended that programs and policies that favor the growth of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), essentially in “sectors of society that generate employment, are the flagship of the next four years”, so that it is possible to “reduce poverty and unemployment”.

"We want programs and policies that make GDP grow, fundamentally in job-generating sectors of society, to be the flagship of the next four years, so that we can reduce poverty and unemployment", said the Minister of Finance, this Tuesday, in Washington, in the United States of America, where he is participating in the annual meetings of the World Bank (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Protecting the most vulnerable families from the various impacts on food, fertilizer and energy prices, taking into account the supply as a result of the war in Eastern Europe, is the purpose, explained Vera Daves, quoted by Angop.

The official also referred that, during the hearings of the annual meetings of the WB and the IMF, Angola wants to listen and understand the prisms of the performance of the global, regional and continental economy of Africa, as well as the essential threats and opportunities, writes Angop.

In addition, Vera Daves – who was speaking at the end of a meeting between the finance ministers of the African continent, as part of the annual meetings – indicated that the country also wants to outline its perspective for the next four years, as its way of operating is being praised, thus maximizing the resources that are acquired.

"The Angolan State will take full advantage of the reputational moment that the country is going through, as a result of the implemented reforms, and everything will be done to maintain this positive perception, with the aim of continuing to maintain and ensure macroeconomic stability more firm and incisive", she added, quoted by Angop.
