Promoting cancer awareness, Sanlam Angola Seguros, in partnership with Luanda Medical Center and the Angolan League Against Cancer, offered 100 free mammography exams, according to a statement sent to VerAngola.
During the gala – which featured animation by Pérola, Yola Semedo and the Gingas do Maculusso – there was a fashion show and an auction of clothing items, the proceeds of which were donated to the Angolan Cancer Control Institute.
This action emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis by providing the most needy women with a preventive and diagnostic medical examination in one of the most prestigious hospitals in the country, the note said.
"We are not indifferent to the problems that society is experiencing, this being a cause of great impact among Angolan women, we decided to support in ways to reduce the needs of patients, who seek treatments related to oncology. We will always be willing to support actions such as these", said Fábio dos Santos, Director of the insurance company's Health and Accidents Business Unit, thus informing the reasons that led Sanlam Angola to support the event.
