A note from the central bank states that it launched a series of actions, in coordination with the Empresa Interbancária de Serviços (Emis) and commercial banks, to increase the trust and credibility of the payment system, with emphasis on the availability of funds in the accounts of beneficiaries on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
Since last Saturday, the beneficiaries of transfer operations and payments made using the Multicaixa debit card will see the amounts relating to operations on the immediately following day reflected in their accounts, regardless of whether or not it is a business day.
“Until the end of September of the current year, the beneficiaries of transfers and payments made on Fridays and during the weekend via Multicaixa debit card, only saw the funds reflected in their respective bank accounts on Monday. Friday, the first working day of the week”, highlights the note.
The central bank emphasizes that the modernization of the Angola Payments System (SPA) driven by the dynamics of new payment services has assumed an increasing importance in the daily lives of citizens and economic agents, through the provision of innovative financial products and services.
According to the BNA, it is currently triggering actions so that, shortly, the amounts referring to transfer and payment operations using any means or payment infrastructure, can be reflected in the beneficiaries' bank account on the immediately following day.
