Petro de Luanda and Sagrada Esperança qualify for African Champions League

Petro de Luanda, coached by Portuguese coach Alexandre Santos, and Sagrada Esperança have qualified for the group stage of the African Champions League.

Petro, who qualified for the fourth time for the group stage, beat Congo Brazaville's Otoho 2-0 in Luanda, with goals from Vidinho, in the 44th minute, and Megue, in the 73rd minute, after the draw to two in the first hand.

Sagrada Esperança, the other Angolan representative in the same competition, also qualified for the first time, despite a 1-0 away defeat against Eswatini's Royal Leopards, with a goal by Júnior Magagula, in the 89th minute. The Angolans benefited from a 3-1 home victory, in the first leg played in Luanda.

For the African Football Confederation Cup, 1º de Agosto was eliminated this Sunday from the race to the group stage, after drawing 0-0, in Luanda, against Red Arrows FC. The draw was joined by a 1-0 defeat in the first leg in Lusaka.

Interclube, another Angolan representative in the same competition, 'stamped their passport' to the last phase, thanks to the withdrawal of CFFA from Madagascar, which, at home, lost 3-0 in the first leg.
