Ana Dias Lourenço defends the ongoing training of rural women

The successive professional and academic training of rural women, aiming at the social empowerment of these women, was defended this Monday by Ana Dias Lourenço, while speaking at a forum on rural women.

:

"The time has come to create the necessary conditions for rural women to develop their full potential, empower themselves with new knowledge and new tools, opening doors to opportunities for development and recognition of their role in the future of the economy of the country", considered the First Lady of the Republic.

Cited by Angop, Ana Dias Lourenço indicated that the Government and provincial governments should be involved in this measure.

On the occasion, the Secretary of State for Economy, Dalva Ringote, indicated that the Government has been working towards ensuring that women organized in cooperatives, especially in rural areas, benefit from financing in order to ensure their projects.

Norberto dos Santos "Kwata Kanawa", governor of the province of Malanje - where the forum took place, which is part of the commemorations of the International Day of Rural Women, celebrated on 15 October - stated that the Executive wants rural women to be at the center of the economy and of the two families.

In turn, Guerda Barreto, representative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Fund (FAO) in Angola, admitted that the Executive has been committed to creating conditions that improve the activity of rural women as well as address hunger and poverty in communities.
