The 43rd edition of Girabola was raffled off last September 16 and has as its poster game on the first day the meeting between the 1st of August, four-time champion in title that will be guided by the Portuguese Paulo Duarte, and the Interclube, trained by the Portuguese Ivo Campos.
Most of the teams registered for the competition advocate testing the players and technical teams before the start of training that officially began on September 19.
The press reports that the 1st of August squad, with some players already tested to covid-19, holds this Friday two-day training sessions at Coqueiros Stadium, in Luanda, under the guidance of the assistant coaches Ivo Traça and Mário Soares.
Paulo Duarte, who signed a one-year contract and another option with the four-time Angolan champion, is expected to arrive in Angola later this week.
Sixteen teams will compete in the Girabola 2020/21, among which the debutant Cassange de Malanje.
The Girabola 2019/2020 had no champion, because the clubs decided unanimously, on April 30, to cancel the competition, interrupted in March due to the pandemic, mainly to "safeguard health and heavy spending with athletes whose contracts expired in May.
