Two pregnant women arrested at Saturday's rally in Luanda were released

Two pregnant women, included in the group of more than a hundred people arrested during a demonstration in Luanda on Saturday, were released on Tuesday night, one of the lawyers accompanying the case told Lusa.

:

"The defense demanded their release from their condition and will then respond to justice," he told Lusa Simão Afonso, who was part of the initial group of 40 demonstrators' defenders.

Currently, only seven lawyers have been allowed to remain in the room with the defendants, although the rest continue to follow the case.

"The initial strategy was to have the 40 lawyers defend the protesters, but the judge ordered them to be distributed in groups, leaving only seven," he explained.

According to Simão Afonso, the representatives of the Bar Association informed that 22 defendants were heard on Tuesday and that the expectation is to hear about twenty per day, admitting that the reading of the sentence can be done on Friday.
